If I was to bring up a personal contact that provided a creative opportunity for me, it would be my Dad. In his line of work he sometimes needs to organize presentations, which require the use of graphic design agency. When occasions came up, he works with the Managing Director of an agency called Print Co. Before I came to Nottingham Trent to do Multimedia, I was pursuing Graphic Design and after completing my HND my Dad arranged an interview for me with the Managing Director of Print Co. At this time I hadn't decided whether I was going to go to university or not, so the interview concluded with us waiting until I was more clear with what I wanted.
Another personal contact that provided me with a creative opportunity was when I was doing my HND in Graphic design. My tutor was occasionally coming into class with a live brief which we would all try to compete for. A brief came in for a design for a leaflet advertising Fairtrade in Macclesfield Town. I came up with a design that the Fairtrade comity liked and after some rough drafts and approvals, we went to print. 5000 copies were then sent out to various places in Macclesfield.
